Guideline to being a fantastic

CRUISE

SKIPPER

1. Write an announcement for the Pleasant Times and submit it prior to the cruise. Send or email it to the newsletter editor. The pre-cruise announcement should state any themes or requirements such as passing of foods, costumes, etc., location, times, and anything that will draw interest to the subject.

2. If a budget is required for games, prizes or equipment, have it approved prior to event and submit receipts.

3. It’s not required but skipper could request an email blast a week before the event to remind fellow sailors.

4. Announce the location on the water the day of the raft-up and designate what VHF channel to monitor for info.

5. Be on the scene of the raft-up at the designated time to help direct he raft-up procedure.

6. All boats spending the night are required to set an anchor as directed by the cruise skipper.

7. Each boat captain is responsible for their boats safety and compliance with all regulations as required by local and state

authorities and the Coast Guard.

8. A raft-up may be cancelled at anytime if conditions or circumstancesdo not allow a safe raft-up.

9. Except for special predetermined events or unsafe conditions. A boat may leave a raft-up at anytime but should advise the boats around it so they can maintain the integrity of the raft-up.

10. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, there’s always someone around to help out in anyway.

11. The most important thing to do is to share the raft-up news with LPSC membership and submit an article to the Pleasant Times. Picture are encouraged!
