LPSC members enjoyed a day of sailing while hosting the nicest kids you could find anywhere from the Sands Branch of the Boys & Girls Club. As with many worth-while ideas, taking a group of kids sailing required many helping hands. In addition to the hard-working board pitching in to make the event happen; LPSC members Bruce and Dianna Andres, Linda Cook, George Goldman, Ed Ladd, Joe Zuccala, Terry and Terri Harding,Tim and Rhonda Brewer and Bob Socha were at the event to crew or support the young sailors and their Boys & Girls Club chaperones. Special thanks also goes to the following folks who contributed either before or during the event (or both!); Brittney Topal, Melissa Steinman from Arizona Game and Fish Department for the pre-event boating education, safety support and boating bags for the kids; Karon Hunsley, for her insurance expertise; Tony and Diane Kozlik, Liz Robbins, Debbie Huntsman, Tom Dumbauld, Emily Kaufmann, David Devoucoux. Thanks also to Wear-It AZ, Arizona Game and Fish Department, Division 10 of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Pleasant Harbor Marina, Maricopa Water District, the Boys & Girls Club, and of course Corpedia, for generously supporting the event — everyone made it a fun, memorable and special day for these kids.
